International Good Shepherds |
Good Shepherd of North America was founded on the principle that “one person is of more value than a world,” this group of committed service providers is dedicated to assist especially women and children in a variety of nonprofit, non-denominational social service agencies and programs that operate in different communities across the U.S. and Canada.
Their commitment to one another as a network is based on the unrelenting desire to better serve children, youth and families who are marginalized in society due to poverty, exploitation, addictions and family conflict. Five "provinces" or districts make up Good Shepherd of North America: the French and English Regions of Canada, the Province of Mid-North America, the Province of New York and, most recently, the Central South Region of the U.S. Also known as the Congregation of Our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd, the Sisters of the Good Shepherd merged with the Sisters of Our Lady of Charity on June 27, 2014, reunifying after a 179-year split and bringing the U.S.'s Central South Region into the fold. A listing of some of our partner agencies who bring life to policy and advocacy may be found here. |
The Congregation of Our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd is an international order, and has a presence at the UN with an NGO. Learn more about the UN work on their Facebook page.
