Digital Toolkit - Call to Action

"How I wish that all of us would hear God’s cry ... Let us not look the other way." – Pope Francis, Evangelli Gaudium
CALL TO ACTION
Uniting to PREVENT Human Trafficking & BRING Hope to Survivors

It may be challenging to find wide-spread agreement on many big issues today, but one area where people of good will, where men and women, where democrats and republicans find common ground is human trafficking.

That said, legislative policy solutions do not move themselves. They need you to move for them! Make the move. Call or write your Members of Congress. Post on social media.
  • Ask your Senators and Representative to co-sponsor the bills
  • Urge them to get the bills voted out of committee
  • Call on them to actively support passage of our bills

Action Alert I – Frederick Douglass Trafficking Victims Prevention and Protection Reauthorization Act of 2025  (HR 2961)

Action Alert II – Trafficking Survivors Relief Act of 2025 (HR 1379)

Action Alert III – Kids Online Safety Act (S 1748)

STAY TUNED to write your Members of Congress calling for passage of HR 2961 that would reauthorize domestic provisions of the last TVPRA along with International Megan’s Law requiring advanced notification of traveling sex offenders. The bill also provides for education prevention grants serving a high-intensity child sex trafficking area or an area with significant child labor trafficking. In addition, HR 2961 would offer wrap-around social services and education to prevent child trafficking through social services support for the attainment of life-skills, employment, and education necessary to achieve self-sufficiency.
STAY TUNED to write your Members of Congress urging passage of HR 1379 that takes mitigating circumstances under consideration and would enable survivors’ criminal records to be vacated or arrests to be expunged for nonviolent crimes such as financial fraud, drug-related offenses, and identity theft.
STAY TUNED to write your Members of Congress calling for passage of S 1748 that would hold tech companies accountable for duty of care on their platforms. It also would give tools to parents and children, while increasing transparency so children may be safe in their virtual spaces.

Human trafficking is an injustice rooted in dynamics of our global world and current global economy. Trafficking converges with global flows of migration, patterns of armed conflict/war and economic supply chains of consumer goods. Let's end it now. Urge Congress to move on key bills.

TRAFFICKING SURVIVORS RELIEF ACT
Renting an apartment or getting a job can be difficult for human trafficking survivors with criminal convictions. HR 1379 gives survivors the ability to rebuild & move forward with their lives. Ask your Representative to cosponsor & pass HR 1379.
https://www.gsadvocacy.org/ht-digital-toolkit.html
#EndHumanTrafficking

Many trafficking survivors face arrest, conviction & incarceration, often w/o recognition of their extenuating circumstances. HR 1379 gives critical relief for survivors who already have been convicted as a result of their trafficking victimization. Ask your Representative to cosponsor & pass HR 1379.
https://www.gsadvocacy.org/ht-digital-toolkit.html
#EndHumanTrafficking

Being prosecuted & possibly convicted only exacerbates survivors’ trauma making it more difficult for them to rebuild their lives. It is time we treat survivors with compassion & understanding. Share & write Congress today to pass HR 1379:

KIDS ONLINE SAFETY ACT
Online spaces offer opportunities but tremendous risks for our nation’s youth where anyone in the world can reach out to them. S 1748 takes the foundational step of requiring tech companies to act to keep kids safe online. Ask your Senators to cosponsor & pass S 1748.
https://www.gsadvocacy.org/ht-digital-toolkit.html
#EndHumanTrafficking

Most of us know very little about the “behind the scenes” operations of tech platforms. S 1748 establishes a duty of care, provides parents & kids with tools for safeguards & sets out additional requirements. Share & write Congress today to pass S 1748:
https://www.gsadvocacy.org/ht-digital-toolkit.html
#EndHumanTrafficking

Children have committed suicide as a direct result of online exploitation. Simply playing online games can give pedophiles direct access to our children. Tech companies have the tools to stop these horrors and this bill will tell them to get it done. We call for urgent passage of S 1748. Write Congress today:
